Yesterday, i received an email from Machines saying they have already diagnosed the problem. i didn’t expect an email from them as far as from my experiences i had from previous occasional sessions years ago - they have upgraded their service a lot better now :) me gusta
Notice how they described my MacBook under “equipment”? lol the word “VIN” - i’m still laughing thinking my MacBook is considered as a vintage, makes me feel slightly ancient than i already am.
The Mac guy called me after i had replied with my approval of the price being charged. I also noted in my reply to make sure to backup the files from iPhoto as in my experiences they often never save the files from iPhotos/iTunes, as well as i was wondering if they could do anything about the fan and the left arrow key. After he received my reply he phoned me instead (not sure why he didn’t just email) to inform that they have completely backedup every single file yet unable to sort my fan out as my mac is “vintage” so no parts to sort that one out but didn’t mention about my left key :/ oh wellBUT there is good news! he offered to REPLACE my broken cover for FREE!it may not be fresh crispy white but it would be a lot safer for my macbook from catching any form of liquid drip in easily alright!i’m starting to love this Machine Service Pte Ltd.
However, in terms of charges, initially he said to reformat and jizz costs RM200 but as stated in this document it says “RM150” - nice, rebate RM50!And back up is discounted to RM200 instead of RM50!well, maybe it’s not technically a rebate but i heard what i heard okay, he said overall would’ve cost RM450 but instead they’re only charging me RM100 lesser!i know it’s still a big amount of money to spend on just fixing it, if i knew how i would charge my service for < RM200 ;)So anyway, my question here is : Should i trick my guardians to give me RM450 and keep the RM100 into my savings or be honest instead?
aite, ya’ll answer that while 12:30PM today i’m heading off to an LGBT support group. woot woot
p/s: may probably pick my MacBook up this Wednesday. i literally thought they asked me to pick it up the next coming Monday as they keep saying “after 7 working days” lol had to contact him back to be reassured. Good thing it didn’t take that long to diagnose! need to reinstall all sorts of shit software into my baby.
Next goal: external hardrive (500GB maybe), 2-4 Nov, PC Expo!
