Just in time for opening weekend of The Avengers!
This 50” monster longboard was perfect for walking tricks and wide, smooth carving, but after a couple layers of plywood cracked, I realized this retro shape made for a fantastic art canvas.
I found the board a few years ago scrapped behind a friend’s frat house and I excitedly nabbed it, pumped to bring it back to life in a fresh new way.
This graphic blends old and new to create a tribute to The Avengers using a mashup of old and new! Delicately torn excepts from Avengers King-Size Special #4 are collaged over a carefully placed Avengers/Invaders poster by Alex Ross.
Tearing that old comic up was a bit painful, but I made sure to read and enjoy every page of it before I did.
The old advertisements were particularly enjoyable!
